I've been wanting to make a doorstop for ages, but always thought they'd be on the difficult side. Well, they're not, and here it is. No doubt it will be travelling around the house when little hands discover it's portable. But that's ok - that's why it has a handle.
Yesterday was a lovely day in the garden. No, the sun wasn't shining and it was definitely on the damp side, and there was a real chill in the air, but lovely all the same. I managed to do things I was beginning to think were lost to me - clearing winter debris, and getting it all bagged up for the municipal compost scheme. The wonders of strong painkillers which let you forget about sore knees.
It seems the lateness of the Snowdrops this year means that the walk and fair will not happen this year - disappointing, but it has galvanised me into finding other fairs and markets where I can sell hortensia stuff. And all of a sudden I'm signed up for numerous outlets, and sorely need to increase stock levels. I've also updated the Etsy shop, and Folksy, and there's also a new site, coriandr, so have been busy. And now, if I could just work out how to create a mosaic effect of pictures....

I managed to do a bit of winter tidying but I quickly got distracted by something, can't even remember what now! I recenly made a doorstop but mine is a pyramid with a handle on the top. Now we need a warm day to open up the back door and let in that fresh air.

Hello Pam. I am desperate to get in the garden too. Manage it, but never on the sunny days. Lovely doorstop xx

I think we must have been out in the garden at the same time :)
I was planting bulbs in containers which should have been done some time ago. It was lovely being out and about again. I hope that your knees are soon on the mend. Take care Pam.

P.S. I forgot to say that Picasa (which you can download free from Google) gives you the facility to create photo mosaics.

I am glad to hear that the door stop was easy to make, as I was given one last year as a Birthday present and want more around the house. They are very expensive to buy, so being a crafter myself thought I would have a go. Yours is lovely, as are all your handmade crafts.

And here, we just received another 15 cm of snow. In another few weeks at this rate, the compost will be totally hidden under snow. Already, my above ground planting box (about 30 cm high) is buried under at least that much again. I love it though, as this is what a Canadian Winter is supposed to be like. Temperatures are supposed to be milder right now (that is around -4 only... giggle...) But I did receive a gardening catalogue this week, and a few new plants look very, very tempting.... but, oh, woe me, where do I put them.
