Today is not an easy day; it does not flow. I don't know why this is so, therefore it's difficult to put it right.
The wonderful smell of summer lavender helps.
Planning to be out there kneeling in the garden makes me believe that this cold will go.
Creating birthday fairy cakes makes the whole house smell warm and tasty.
A trip to the allotment yields warmth in the greenhouses - and something more. But the day still feels 'other'.
Best just get some knitting out.

ps The picture of the Cerinthe is for Maureen - as you can see, not as far on as yours, so maybe it is better to get them going in the Autumn.
Hi Pam, sorry haven't visited or at least commented for a while. Just thought I'd make you feel less alone with your off day though. I'm blaming the cosmos or the full moon. Just been at a friend's house and although both coming out the other end of stinky colds, both agree there's something "funny" (not ha ha) about where we're at today. I suppose like those green shoots the pushing through bit is probably the hardest. Lol

I know exactly what you mean. I'm flitting from room to room doing bits here and there when I should be concentrating on one thing at a time. Funny old day!!

Its lovely seeing your seedlings
I don't actually sow anything barsweetpeas till March now as its too cold here for them to really get going. Later sown seeds always seem to overtake the earlier sown seedlings.

I've always waited til then too, but after last year's awful summer when too many plants ended up hardly flowering at all, I thought I'd give early sowing a good go.
That's the thing with gardening - the changes happen without regard to received wisdom.

That is why I don't grow many half hardies - too little warmth in mid
summer, too little light in late summer, far too few flowers!
I once got a book by an American writer on growing veg in an unheated tunnel
all year round. Only problem was that it only worked as far as France - we
are way too far North for light.

Your bulbs look fabulous in the teacups Pam, your craft lovely and the cupcakes scrummy ! I see what you mean by the size difference with the Cerinthe. I'm gald I sowed them in the Autumn now. I almost lost mine the other day, the wind blew my little plastic mini greenhouse over. I really don't know how the Cerinthe's didn't get broken. I will take them up to the proper greenhouse on the allotment soon.

Awww, big hugs and I hope you are feeling cheery tomorrow. I love lavender and have some oil I put on a wash cloth. I throw the wash cloth in the dryer with the wet clothes. They come out smelling awesome. Your seedlings are coming along nicely.

Hello Pam. I seem to have had a run of days like this for a while now. I turned to knitting too! Always the same when I have a break from sewing, but beginning to get back there now, thank goodness. Hope today is better xx

Hope that today is a different matter Pam ((((())))) Your cerinthe is way ahead of mine, the seeds of which are still in a bag somewhere. I am hoping to dust the heated propagator down sometime this week, and get them started.
